Introducing Tracy...
Paint Art That Sells was created by Tracy Saywell, an Australian mixed media artist, teacher, author and award winning fashion designer whose work is inspired by the tropical paradise where she lives.
Surrounded by beauty... the Pacific Ocean, broadwater and canals teaming with birdlife, tropical flowers, bougainvillea, frangipani, bird of paradise and incredible sunsets in the afternoon, Tracy creates vibrant prints and artworks inspired by her surroundings.
I love teaching my students how they can profit from their creative passion and believe in their dreams!....
A Creative Life...
Tracy started her career at just 16 years of age, opening her first fashion boutique. By the time she was 21 she had expanded to 4 successful retail stores and was designing her own fashion ranges with her own unique screen printed fabric designs, which she stocked in her stores and also sold to other retailers.
After having her daughter Sonya, Tracy sold her retail stores and continued to run her fashion label, wholesaling to other retailers and later opening other retail stores for her brand as Sonya grew older. She then went on to design one off evening wear, with hand painted silks and couture bridal for clients, run a sewing school teaching women how to create designer clothing for themselves and also owned a fabric store.
Running her own fashion boutiques and designing for clients gave her valuable experience in understanding customers wants and needs, viewing fashion ranges, buying stock that would appeal to her target market, styling, customer service and selling, through to merchandising to create interest.
Tracy's daughter Sonya grew up surrounded by Tracy's fabrics and fashion designs and inherited her love of color. Sonya soon started designing fashion and prints as well, working in Tracy's retail stores and utilized her passion for business and technology to help build their businesses together.
Utilizing their extensive experience in the fashion industry, Tracy and Sonya started a Registered Training Organisation in Australia delivering Nationally Recognized Qualifications in fashion design. The college quickly expanded to offer courses in visual arts, interior design, photography, styling, make-up and beauty as well.
Through the college Tracy has worked with many aspiring artists and designers and helped them to create their own businesses doing what they love. She has an immense passion for sharing her love of art and design with others and helping them to build a career, making money from their passion.
Color & Inspiration
Throughout her life, Tracy has used art as her creative outlet, not only in her career and business, but also as a personal hobby and passion.
Continually practicing, reading, studying and experimenting with new media and techniques for art and surface design, extending her artistic expression into a wide variety of designer articles.
Tracy now loves to design and create a wide variety of products from homewares to accessories and fashion, bringing vibrant color and prints into everyday life.
Her art reflects the beauty around her – the colors and moods of summer and the joy in nature that is the essence of where she lives. She is never without inspiration.
Passion & Experience
During the difficult time whilst Tracy was nursing her husband through terminal brain cancer, she embraced art as an outlet and escape, which helped her through and further grew her passion for art which she loves to share with others, so that they too may get the joy of creating art, playing with colors and seeing their work come to life and following their dreams.
Tracy now shares her passion and experience with others through a variety of online classes, holiday retreats at beautiful destinations and weekend workshops at her college campuses in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
